About one-third of Russians reject jobs even if employers want to hire them, according to the Superjob job search website.
A Superjob survey found that job seekers often go through the entire selection process but abruptly reject job offers. Some 30% refuse to start a new job.
Only 13% reject the job because they found a more interesting opportunity. In the majority of cases, their decision is due to low compensation levels, the employer’s dishonest practices and poor working conditions, TASS reports.
Another 5% of candidates turned down jobs because the company had bad reviews. Some 3% were uncomfortable with off-the-book wages and too many work duties.
