The ceremonial opening and launch of the new fish processing plant, Rybnaya Tema (Fish Theme),took place in the village of Predtechensk with the participation of Tomsk Region Governor Sergei Zhvachkin.
The plant is large, with a target capacity of 3K tons of product per year; the total investment in the project reached RUR 106 mio ($1.4 mio).
It is noteworthy that only RUR 37.5 mio ($500K) was allocated from the regional budget, with RUR 35 mio being a grant to purchase the equipment, and another RUR 2.5 mio a subsidy to cover half of the sum spent on three smoking chambers.
The rest of the sum was provided by local entrepreneur Alexei Pivikov.
