The first models will be on sale in 2019. According to Versiya agency, such a wheelchair priced at about RUR 320K ($4.9K) allows a vertical adjustment option.

Russia is now actively pursuing policies of improving life for individuals with limited capacities. Science and technology, in turn, offer various possibilities to accomplish the task. Russian engineers have designed a wheelchair for people with nonfunctioning legs which allows taking an upright position. An ordinary wheelchair is equipped with a special electric drive (lifting gear) or a so called verticalisation system. A device weighs 18 kilos. A wheelchair has a number of levers for a lifting gear operation. According to the designers, the risk of an overthrow is minimal, since a wheelchair has a steady and broad feetrest. Zetta Director Denis Shshurovsky noted, that his company is the first in Russia who designed and started manufacturing such a device.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian designers developed a sight-operated wheelchair. Researchers say, a prototype of such a wheelchair is already built. It is envisaged, a special screen will display an array of commands. To activate one of them, one has to look at a specific point on the screen.
