Runa Capital and the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) have become Russia’s most active venture funds. Alexander Rumyantsev, Bogdan Yarovoi and Nikolai Belykh are among the largest private investors.
The Russian Venture Company (RVC) has presented the annual ranking of Russia’s largest venture investors. The list includes investors who concluded the largest number of deals in 2018, the RVC press service reports.
In 2018, the number of active investment funds reached 95. RVC included four kinds of funds in its ranking: classic, seed, new and foreign funds. Runa Capital ranks first among the classic funds; it invested $15 mio in startups. The IIDF ranks first among the seed funds, having invested $12 mio in 100 startups. Day One Ventures takes the first place among the new funds and GPS Ventures among the foreign ones. Target Global is the most active managing company of the year; it closed 15 deals in 2018.
RVC also analyzed the most active angel investors. Alexander Rumyantsev ranks first with 15 deals. The second place is taken by Bogdan Yarovoi, founder of Smart Hub venture company. He invested in 13 startups in 2018. Nikolai Belykh, an active investor in IT, takes the third place. Among companies, Sistema financial corporation ranks first in terms of the number of investment deals (15 projects). It is followed by Sberbank and Mai.ru Group with nine deals, respectively.
