As of August 31, the overall assets of Azerbaijani banks totaled 30.269 bln mantas ($17 bln), while liabilities reached 25.656 bln mantas ($15 bln), Trend news agency reports.
In August, 44.7% of the assets accounted for the loan portfolio which grew by 1.4% over the month and amounted to 13.526 bln manats. Business loans accounted for 61.5% (0.8% up) of the total loan portfolio while consumer loans accounted for 38.5% (2.4% up). 45.7% of all assets (and 34.8% of the loan portfolio) were in foreign currencies.
