ABB, the world’s technology leader in industrial automatization and energy solutions, opened its first engineering center in Kaliningrad. It will be an addition to the network of centers located in Bangalore and Ostrava.
More than a hundred engineers of the new technological platform will be developing ABB’s systemic business by providing world-class service to the Russian and global markets of the metal, mining, maritime, petrochemical, pulp and paper industries. A typical project requires an average of 50,000 man hours.
ABB hired highly qualified engineers with good command of English from Kaliningrad and CIS countries. The new employees underwent training at the ABB Operations Center in Ostrava and are already directly involved in current projects.
“The new engineering center in Kaliningrad will play an important role in the implementation of large-scale projects in Russia and around the world,” comments Irina Kozlova, President of ABB Russia.
