The Russian Black Sea Fleet’s new frigate Admiral Essen has arrived in Istanbul to take part in the IDEF’19 International Defense Industry Fair. The vessel will stay in Turkey until May 3; its crew will present the frigate as an example of Russian shipbuilding.
Admiral Essen, a frigate of the Admiral Grigorovich class, is the second patrol boat of the 11356 Project employed by the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The ship is equipped with 3S14 launching systems that can use Kalibr and Oniks cruise missiles, as well as the 3M22 Zircon supersonic cruise missile when it goes into service.
