AI-powered café to open in St. Petersburg

A coffee shop that uses neural network and artificial intelligence technology will open in St. Petersburg in April. AI will guess the needs of customers and forecast the demand for drinks.

The café will use the Microsoft Azure cognitive computing technology. It will be able to recognize customers’ emotions and offer relevant drinks. According to the coffee shop director, the technology is currently being tested in focus groups and then the neural network will be able to learn automatically, Regnum news agency reports.

The neural network will forecast the demand for drinks depending on the day of the week, weather and events held in the city. Three such cafes will open in St. Petersburg before the end of 2019, and two more in Moscow in 2020.
