Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) released its official statement. “Taking into consideration the current situation in all countries of the Mediterranean region and worldwide with regard to the coronavirus epidemic and the rapid spread of new cases,” the statement calls on all Mediterranean countries “to put in place exceptional measures to support businesses affected by this virus.”
“As a matter of fact, many companies are already suffering the economic impact of this virus and, therefore, business leaders imminently need open access to information and specific sectoral support measures,” ASCAME noted and asked “governments of Mediterranean States to provide appropriate assistance and urgent programs to help the private sector, such as the implementation of an aid scheme for start-ups, SMEs and large companies from sectors facing financial difficulties due to the coronavirus epidemic.”
