Capitalization of Azerbaijan’s banking sector reached 4.599 bln manats at the end of the first half of 2019, 17.8% higher than a year ago. According to a report by Azerbaijan’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA), the aggregate assets of the national banks increased by 7.1% as of June 30, 2019.
The banks’ investments in securities increased by over 30%, their lending grew by 12.24%, whereas net profit of the banking sector at the end of June 2019 was almost 12 times higher than last year’s figure.
