
‘Treating’ the coronavirus with alcohol does not make any sense: ethanol does not kill the infection and instead suppresses immunity, according to the Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection.
The agency commented that one of the COVID-19 myths is that strong spirits can be effective against the virus.
However, agency representatives argue that alcohol can instead make people more susceptible to the infection, RIA Novosti reports. Alcohol increases the risk of adverse health consequences. Therefore, it is recommended to drink less during the epidemic.
