COVID-19 outbreak will not subside until June – Healthcare Ministry

The coronavirus epidemic will not begin to slow down before June, chief infectious disease consultant for the Ministry of Healthcare Yelena Malinnikova told the Rossiya 24 channel.

According to her, the outbreak began in Russia in March. Usually a virus spreads rapidly during three months. This means the epidemic is not going to end earlier than June, Yelena Malinnikova said. Until June, the novel coronavirus will continue to spread actively.

The doctor emphasized that the virus can even continue to spread into the summer. However, she hopes that the measures taken by the government will help contain the coronavirus within 100 days.
