Economic pessimism is growing in Russia – expert

Economic pessimism began to grow among Russian officials, President of the St. Petersburg Politics Foundation Mikhail Vinogradov said.

According to the expert, there are growing imbalances between the expectations of state support for economic development and social needs and the actual steps taken. The Russian government does not even seem to be able to explain to itself why they are failing to provide assistance or to introduce emergency laws.

Perhaps, they do not believe providing more money would have had any effect, Mikhail Vinogradov emphasized, quoted by Business Online.

Meanwhile, according to Vinogradov, countries with a more developed government apparatus have opted for direct support measures. Russia is pursuing a different policy, possibly because government officials are prone to economic pessimism. Perhaps they think that a rainy day is yet to come for the Russian the economy.
