Economist predicts ruble’s weakening to over 75 against the dollar

The US dollar exchange rate will continue to grow, trading at over RUR75, chief analyst at PSB bank Bogdan Zvarich said.

According to the expert, at the end of last week, the ruble managed to recover its Monday and Tuesday losses; as a result, the dollar returned to the RUR70–75 range, Rosbalt writes.

However, the energy market is still weak. Oil prices may fall again later this week. This can trigger a new weakening of the ruble.

BCS Prime brokerage analyst Anton Pokatovich is confident that the Central Bank’s decision to lower its key rate will have a moderate effect on the ruble exchange rate. According to the expert, the dollar will hold at RUR74–75 this week.
