Enel Russia to construct a wind farm in Rostov Region

Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev, Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terracciano, and CEO of Enel Russia Carlo Palasciano have laid a symbolic cornerstone during the groundbreaking ceremony for a future RUR 10 bln ($154.8 mio) wind farm in the Azov County of the region. The new Azov Wind Power Plant will run at a capacity of 90 MW on an area of 133 ha.

The Azov Wind Plant will use 26 turbines and will generate about 300 GWh per year while avoiding the release of about 260K tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The project has received financial support from Eurasian Development Bank, an international financial institution that promotes the participants’ economic growth and the development of integration in the Eurasian region through investment.

The first wind farm is to be commissioned in 2020.
