Expert discusses popular vacation destinations in Russia

This summer, most Russians will go to Crimea, the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, according to Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze.

According to Maya Lomidze, these destinations will become the most popular. The Stavropol and Krasnodar (Kuban) Territories will be the first to reopen for tourists, so these regions will enjoy the greatest demand. Crimea will join the top three in July, because it reopened later, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes.

The Stavropol Territory and Kuban have opened spa hotels that have medical licenses. At this stage they still require medical certificates, but from July 1, their guests won’t be asked to provide anything at all.

Maya Lomidze predicts that this summer will be a ‘non-standard’ holiday season. Most Russians are now booking guest houses and camp sites in their own or a neighboring region.
