Norilsk, Perm and Saratov are the most depressed cities in Russia, according to a research by the Zoom Market independent agency.

The experts have surveyed residents of 25 cities in Russia asking respondents if they are happy with their lives, or are often in a bad mood, Izvestia writes.

Chelyabinsk, Bryansk and Omsk also appeared to have a rather depressing atmosphere. On the other hand, St. Petersburg, with its frequent rains and winds, has far fewer depressed people – that city is tenth on the ranking. There are still fewer unhappy people in Moscow – the Russian capital is in the 18th place.

As for the most cheerful people, they mostly live in the southern regions: in Astrakhan, Krasnodar, Sochi and Simferopol.
