Moscow once again tops the ranking of Russian regions with the highest quality of life compiled by RIA Novosti. St. Petersburg is predictably in second place, and the Moscow Region, in third place.
The ranking is based on an analysis of 70 various indicators. The sociologists looked at the social sphere as well as at other aspects. Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Moscow Region showed the top three results in Russia by the quality of life.
These three regions are far ahead the rest of Russia at this stage. According to experts, the situation is unlikely to change in any way in the near future because their level of development of infrastructure and the economy in general by far exceeds that of other Russian regions.
The top three regions are followed by Tatarstan, the Belgorod Region and the Krasnodar Territory.
Experts note that these regions are also at a high economic development level, but still not up to the level of the top three. The last on the ranking are North Ossetia, Buryatia, Kalmykia, and Ingushetia.
