First digital substation launched in Black Earth region

One of the most advanced substations in Russia and the first digital substation in the Central Black Earth economic region, Nikolskoye, has been launched in the Belgorod Region.

Nikolskoye is fully automated and can operate without staff. The innovative substation will submit its performance data via digital channels to the Integrated Network Control Center. The substation has a capacity of 35/10 kV.

The opening ceremony was attended by Belgorod Region Governor Yevgeny Savchenko and Igor Makovsky, CEO of Rosseti Center, the management company of Rosseti Center and Volga Region. The company plans to invest over RUR 7 bln ($107 mio) in the digitalization of the local electrical grid.
