Gazprom cuts gas output

In 2018, Russia’s gas giant Gazprom produced 497.6 bln cubic meters of gas and 40.9 mio tons of oil. In 2017, the company increased gas output as compared to 2016 by 12.4% to 472 bln cubic meters. Before the crisis, in 2013, it produced 487 bln cubic meters, and by 2015 it cut the output to 418 billion cubic meters.

In 2019, plans call for extracting 495 bln cubic meters of gas, 15.7 mio tons of condensate and 41.8 mio tons of oil. If necessary or in case of a steep rise in demand, Gazprom can increase gas output by 20% of the field’s estimated capacity.

Gazprom’s exports have been decreasing since early 2019 due to a warm winter in Europe. In 2018, the company delivered over 201 bln cubic meters of gas abroad. In 2017, it increased gas exports by 8.4% to 194.4 bln cubic meters.
