Growing demand for cybercriminals in Russia

Demand for services of producing malware intended for committing cybercrime, is three times greater than supply, Positive Technologies report.

The product in greatest demand is software for ATM hacking. Such software is priced at over $1500. A trivial webpage hacking to gain full control over web applications is multifold cheaper and is worth merely $150. A complex cyberattack against an entity may be as much as $5,000.

It should be noted that under the US laws and current practices, for stealing funds of banks’ clients, a hacker can end up serving a six years’ sentence. A court can award up to two years in prison for a cyberattack against an organization.
