Over 40% of Russians want to increase their travel spending. It is twice as much as the world average, where only 28% of people want to spend more money on tourism. The tourism sector is expected to grow by 4% between 2018 and 2023.
The annual growth of the tourism sector between 2018 and 2023 will be 4%; 9% of people spend money on travel at least once a month (3% in Russia, according to RIA Novosti news agency). According to the Association of Russian Tour Operators, Russia’s tourism revenue might reach 5%. The outbound tourism flow in Russia will grow by 3% per year, and the inbound flow by 5%.
According to analysts, tourism is becoming more popular because it is no longer a luxury but a necessity. Tourism is most actively developing in Asia with the number of Asian tourists growing by 8% per year; in China, the growth was 12%.
