Healthcare Ministry says COVID-19 outbreak will end in July

The coronavirus situation will stabilize in Russia in July, according to Yelena Malinnikova, chief infectious disease consultant for the Ministry of Healthcare.

According to the expert, Russia will forget all lockdown restrictions by July. Even now, the number of patients with COVID-19 is showing a downward trend across the country.

She has not ruled out the possibility of new outbreaks in Russia, but said she does not believe they will be large.

More than 290K cases of the novel coronavirus infection have been registered by now; 2,722 patients died, RIA Novosti reports.
