JTI to expand investments in Rostov Region

A cooperation agreement was signed between Japan Tobacco International and Rostov Region government. The parties intend to implement various investment projects and environmental programs, and to jointly combat cigarettes counterfeiting.

Within the next two years, JTI will invest $12 mio in developing its Donskoy Tabak, one of the major employers and taxpayers of the region and Russia’s fourth largest cigarette manufacturer.

Rostov Region offers an attractive investment potential and strives to attract domestic and international businesses.

Japan Tobacco International, a leading international tobacco company, acquired Donskoy Tabak in 2018 and intends to maintain its presence and investments in the region. Over two decades it has already invested $4.5 bln in Russia.
