Kamov designed synchropter flying at 420 kmh

Synchropter is a helicopter with two intermeshing rotors turning in opposite directions, with each rotor mast mounted with a slight angle to the other, in a transversely symmetrical manner, so that the blades intermesh without colliding.

Russia’s currently Kamov design bureau is developing a high speed vertical take-off and landing rotorcraft. Its composition and characteristics have been worked out. It is expected the prospect synchropter may reach speed of 420 kilometers per hour.
