On April 29, the 1998 OR2 asteroid that has a diameter between 2 and 4 km (which allows it to be classified as a killer asteroid) whose trajectory is crossing the Earth orbit thus making it a potential danger, will approach Earth as close as it possibly can.
However, Roscosmos space corporation has ruled out a possibility of any consequences of this approach as the distance between our planet and the asteroid will still be around 6 mio km (16 times more than the distance to the Moon).
Roscosmos reported that the orbits of objects with a diameter of over 1 km are studied and modeled constantly and for a long time ahead so any unexpected developments are out of the question.
