Germany-based Knauf, a leading manufacturer of gypsum construction materials, has opened a production facility in Zvenigovo, Republic of Mari El.
The opening of the plant will create new jobs that will comply with all safety standards, as well as bring additional tax revenues and improve the republic’s investment potential. After purchasing a plant in 2016, the company made a major overhaul and created a cutting-edge dry mortar production line with a total capacity of 70K tons per year. Knauf’s total investment in the plant is RUR 360 mio ($5.7 mio).
