LUKOIL invests in Montanuniversität Leoben

Russian mineral oil group LUKOIL has been making investments in Austrian research facilities such as the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Leoben (Montanuniversität Leoben), ABA — Invest in Austria reports.

The Department of Petroleum Engineering has now received a new ultrasonic measuring device, and the Chair of Petroleum Geology has also been supported in acquiring a device for the scanning electron microscopy laboratory. The cooperation between LUKOIL and Montanuniversität Leoben has existed since 2017. The focus is on fellowships as well as investments in new laboratory equipment and technologies for oil and gas production.

Robert Gulla, Managing Director of LUKOIL Holding GmbH, comments on the aims of the partnership.
