Strengthening export and import ties is one of the priorities on Russia’s digitalization agenda.

Meanwhile “startups and their creators are the main actors in the digital economy,” Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov told Invest Foresight when asked whether startup developers can be compared to the cavalry that spoils for the fight first or infantry.

One of the essential requirements for those who want to become a Skolkovo resident is a proprietary concept or development, according to Skolkovo Board Chairman Viktor Vekselberg who spoke at the panel discussion “Global partnership and transfer of technologies” at the Startup Village international conference. He also quoted statistics, according to which out of almost 2,000 startups, around 280 sell their products abroad and the export revenue is nearing RUR 10 bln).

“We are fighting for Skolkovo philosophy, which is to promote startups, to be extended to the entire Russia,” he added on the sidelines of the event.
