The number of mortgages issued in Crimea has increased by 134% over the past year, according to FinExpertiza analysts. The total value of all mortgages in Russia has increased by 49% and reached 3 tio rubles ($45.7 bio).

Compared to 2017, the total number of loans in Russia has increased by 35% (1,473,000 loans). The worth of mortgages has also increased, by 49%, and reached 3 tio rubles ($45.7 bio). In 2017, the indicator was significantly lower, with a total worth of mortages standing at 2 tio rubles ($30.5 bio). Crimea, Sevastopol and the Nenets Autonomous Area account for the highest increase. The number of mortgages issued in Crimea increased by 115% and the amount of mortgaged funds increased by the record amount of 134%. Sevastopol market is experiencing a good dynamic, with the number of loans increasing by 92% compared to 2017. The figure is slightly lower in the Nenets Autonomous Area (83%).

Analysts argue that such an explosive dynamic was caused by the fact that taking out mortgage used to be very rare in said regions. FinExpertiza President Nina Kozlova stressed that the mortgage rates in Crimea and Sevastopol are the highest in Russia (10.3% on average). This is due to the fact that in Crimea there are no major banks that issue inexpensive loans.
