New investment projects for Pskov Region

Two new investment projects have been approved by the Supervisory Board of the Moglino special economic zone at a meeting chaired by the Governor of the Pskov Region, Mikhail Vedernikov.

The first project is to build a plant for the production of fuel pellets from the wood processing industry waste. Pellets are environmentally friendly and economical biofuel, producing 3,500 kWh of thermal energy from the combustion of 1 ton. The launch of 100% export-oriented facility is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020. The capacity of the plant at the first stage will be 32,000 tons of pellets complying with international quality standards. In the future, the investor plans to expand the business, increasing production and extending sales to Russia. The total investment in the project is about RUR 370 mio ($5.7 mio).

The second investment project, developed by Elme Messer Gaas, involves the construction of a high-tech air separation plant for the production of liquefied oxygen, nitrogen, and argon with a capacity of up to 90,000 tons of industrial gases per year in Moglino. The goal of the project is the complete import substitution of the current gas supplies and the development of export supplies to Belarus and the EU.
