Yesterday, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma (lower house of Russia’s parliament) Aleksander Zhukov and deputies from various parliamentary factions met with Chairman of the German-Russian Forum Matthias Platzeck, website of the Duma reports. Opening the meeting, Mr Zhukov emphasized that the German-Russian Forum “is one of the very important and sought-after venues for the development of our relations.“
He especially welcomed the Forum’s position on the Nord Stream 2 project. “This project is very important from an economic point of view for both Germany and Russia,” he said. “There is no doubt that it will be completed.”
