Parliamentarian: US employs economic terrorism and blackmail

“Trump’s decree on freezing all Venezuelan government assets in the US is banditry and raiding. Washington behaves as an extremely unreliable partner who, under far-fetched grounds, is engaged in pure robbery,” Leonid Slutskiy, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma (lower house of Russia’s Parliament), said, according to the website of the Duma.

“Such actions are contrary to international law. The United States continues to intervene in the affairs of a sovereign state by methods of economic terrorism and blackmail, exerting pressure to change the ruling regime in Caracas,” Slutskiy stressed.
