Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was received by Vladimir Putin to report on the federal budget for the upcoming years, presidential web page reported.

According to Medvedev, “The budget will not only be balanced, but will have a surplus in all the three years to come. The National Wealth Fund now exceeds 7% of the GDP” and is likely to remain at that level.

The government intends to increase funding of public services next year. “Healthcare expenses will almost double totaling RUR 320 bln ($4.9 bln). Funding of demography and education will increase by almost 20%. Funding of science and environmental programs will grow more than 1.5 times,” Prime Minister said.
