President aims to reduce poverty by half

Vladimir Putin has signed the Executive Order on Russia’s National Development Goals through 2030, which implies reducing the poverty rate by half and increasing life expectancy to 78 years.

The national goals also include preservation of the population and people’s health, creating conditions for self-fulfillment, effective jobs, and successful business activities.

The executive order specifies indicators to be achieved in each area by 2030. For instance, life expectancy should reach 78 years, BFM.ru business news website reported.

According to the President, Russia must join the world’s top countries as regards the quality of education. The set goals also include improvement of housing conditions for at least five mio families annually, which requires increasing housing construction to at least 120 mio square meters per year.
