Rusnano, Sistema, RVC invest in Ivideon

A cloud-based video surveillance solution Ivideon has raised $8 mio. This Russian IT startup received investments from Rusnano Sistema SICAR (set by Financial Corporation Sistema and Rusnano Group) and Skolkovo Ventures (registered with participation of the Russian Venture Company’s involvement) venture funds.

The investments are quite sizeable for the Russian market. They will help Ivideon in strengthening its presence in foreign markets and expanding into the new ones.

The service provides access to real time videofeed from surveillance cameras and to archived recordings which are stored in a cloud and may be viewed at any device including a smartphone. According to Andrei Yudnikov, Ivideon CEO, the service does not “merely allow recording and storing video images. It analyzes them thus improving efficiency of business processes, marketing efforts and sales”. For example, it helps recognizing individuals and thus identifying unwanted visitors, or signals of queues in shops. Ivideon’s clientele includes such large corporations as Philips, Honeywell, Google, Megafon telecommunications provider, Yandex Taxi, Acronis, Gett, PIK Group developer, Tinkoff Bank, Moscow Jewelry Factory, Dodo Pizza, etc.

Ivideon will use the investments to bring its foreign revenues up to 40% of the total within the next three years. Besides, the company is set to extend its client base fivefold, first of all by getting connected more representatives of large and medium businesses, and to double its development team which now has 45 members.
