Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Viacheslav Volodin and Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân signed an agreement on the establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission, the web page of the Russian Parliament reported.

Meetings of the Commission will be held annually, alternately in Russia and Vietnam. Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân proposed to hold every meeting of the Commission in a different city. According to Volodin, the issue of the digital economy development could be a core of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission’s work.

“The world is developing, the economy is developing, new formats are coming, and we should not stop but, on our part, develop the cooperation and keep with the times,” Chairman of the State Duma said, noting significance of discussing specific issues, drafting model legislation, and designing common legal space, which should not only give impetus to bilateral relations, but produce tangible results as well. In this regard, the interaction of relevant committees of Russia’s State Duma and the National Assembly of Vietnam is important.
