The keel-laying of two new assault ships has taken place at a shipyard in Kerch, the Crimean Peninsula.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin attended the ceremony at the Zaliv shipyard in Kerch on Monday.
The new general purpose amphibious ships will be built using cutting-edge technology. More than that, they will also have the most advanced weapons, controls and long-range communication systems.
