Russia builds strategic stealth bomber

Russia is working on the first prototype of a strategic stealth bomber. The plane’s airframe will be manufactured at a United Aircraft Corporation plant.

The design documentation has been completed; the deliveries of the materials are underway.

Engineers are currently working on the aircraft cabin; the plane will be ready in 2021, TASS news agency reports.

Last December, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko spoke about the development of a stealth bomber and added that the preliminary design had been approved.

Stealth aircraft are designed to avoid radar detection. The new aircraft will be equipped with cruise missiles and hypersonic weapons.
