On Wednesday, Vladimir Putin held talks in the Kremlin with President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, who is in Russia on a working visit, presidential web page reported.

“Bilateral trade has grown 10% in recent months. It is satisfying to note that to a large extent, the growth is due to mutual supplies, including agricultural produce,” Putin noted. “Another important area is medicine, including the supply of Russian pharmaceutical products to Venezuela. In the near future, we plan to supply 1.5 mio doses of the influenza vaccine. We could supply up to 5 mio on a permanent basis.”

“We are also implementing our major projects, primarily those in the energy sector. In all, Russia has invested about $4 bln in the Venezuelan economy,” he said.
