Russia may avoid the European scenario of the coronavirus pandemic, said World Health Organization (WHO) Representative to the Russian Federation Melita Vujnovic.
According to Vujnovic, the development of the epidemic in Russia will depend of the behavior of the citizens: if they stay at home and keep a safe distance from others, the virus will slow its spread.
Melita Vujnovic believes that it is necessary to test all people who had contact with confirmed coronavirus cases (ay least 15 minutes of face-to-face contact). If all infected people are isolated, Russia will be able to stop the epidemic.
In her interview with Vesti.ru, Vujnovic said that Russia has managed to slow down the early stage of the epidemic. She expressed hope that the current self-isolation measures will bring good results.
