Russia may introduce tax on childlessness

Member of the Russian Civic Chamber Vladimir Lebedev proposed introducing a tax for people with no children, as a disciplinary measure.

Vladimir Lebedev claims that the new tax will motivate people to marry. Moreover, it will motivate people to have children. This is how Russia can solve its demographic problems, Mk.tula.ru reports.

Civic Chamber representative pointed out that there was a tax on childlessness in the Soviet Union. During the post-war years, it helped to improve the demographic situation in the country. Vladimir Lebedev also argued that the tax could be a solution to all problems related to motherhood and childhood.
