Russia may limit alcohol sales during COVID19 outbreak

Russia may introduce significant restrictions on the sale of alcohol. Member of the country’s Civic Chamber Sultan Khamzayev has submitted a respective proposal to the Government.

Sultan Khamzayev wants products with over 9% alcohol content to be limited to one liter per one purchase/ one customer until May 1. The Civic Chamber representative believes the Government is authorized to introduce such measures.

Moreover, the Government may even impose a complete ban on alcohol sales, Russia Today reports. The World Health Organization has also warned against taking alcohol during the pandemic, Khamzayev said.
