Russia prepares for drone wars

Russia has developed unique ‘killer drones’ to fight enemy drones or regular criminals, said Viktor Kladov, director for international cooperation and regional policy at the Rostec state corporation, TASS news agency reports.

Interestingly, Russian drones will be able to intercept drones of the enemy not using missiles or bullets, but with nets and ‘old means of radar location combat.’ Russian engineers also developed special electromagnetic rifles to shoot down enemy drones. The electromagnetic pulse disrupts the electronics in the drone, which loses balance and falls. The striking range of the rifle is 1.5 km.

A law has recently been adopted that allows law enforcement personnel to neutralize enemy drones by shooting them down or landing them.

According to Alexander Sherin, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for Defense, military personnel will soon be replaced with combat drones.
