Russia tests new hypersonic missile

The Zircon innovative hypersonic missile has been launched from a ship for the first time. The trials took place in the Barents Sea.

The missile was fired from the frigate Admiral Gorskhov in the Barents Sea to hit a land target at a military training ground, TASS news agency reports.

The trials took place in January, but the information was only revealed today. The missile covered over 500 km.

This year, trials will be continued; later on, the missile will be launched from submarines.
