Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has signed framework agreements with Indian airlines for the delivery of 85 Il-114-300 regional passenger aircraft, Interfax reports. The Il-114-300 is a modernized version of the short-haul turboprop airliner developed by the Ilyushin Design Bureau in the 1980s.
Under the agreements, Pinnacle Air plans to purchase 50 aircraft, while Sleek Aviation intends to acquire another 35. UAC expects to finalize the first contracts by the end of 2026.
The corporation is also planning to supply 20 aircraft to Air Kerala, with an agreement expected to be signed at a later date. Earlier discussions also covered the delivery of six Il-114-300s to Flamingo Aerospace, beginning in 2028. UAC estimates that demand in India could exceed 100 aircraft over the next decade.
The first aircraft for Indian customers will be manufactured in Russia, with plans to subsequently establish local production in India. Designed primarily for regional routes, the Il-114-300 can accommodate approximately 50 to 68 passengers. The aircraft received Russian certification in June 2026, and UAC plans to gradually increase serial production to 12 aircraft a year.
