Russian defense capacities displayed in Malaysia

Russia’s Rosoboronexport weaponry exporter and a subsidiary of Rostec State Corporation is showcasing a common display of over 500 products presented by nine defense industry manufacturers participating in the 15th International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition LIMA’2019 in Malaysia.

According to Rosoboronexport’s CEO Alexander Mikheev cited by the company’s website, “Malaysia is Russia’s long-time partner in military and technical cooperation (amounted $2 bln over the past 25 years). Nowadays, the relationship between our countries is developing in a steadfast manner and has strong prospects for further progress. Rosoboronexport will present its capacities in supplies of Russian made final products, after-sale services and modernization of the combat aviation equipment previously supplied to Malaysia.”

“The Asia-Pacific Region is one of the key markets for Rostec, and recipient of about 40% of Rosoboronexport’s aggregate supplies,” Sergei Chemezov, Rostec’s CEO, noted.

Rosoboronexport will showcase over 300 pieces of military equipment and materiel including such new products as AK-12 and AK-15 Kalashnikov assault rifles, BT-3F armored personnel carrier, Il-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft, Pantsir-ME shipborne air defense missile and artillery system and Orion-E complex with unmanned aerial systems, as well as Su-35 plane, Mi-171SH military transport helicopter, Ka-52 combat reconnaissance and attack helicopter, Mi-35M transport and combat helicopter, Mi-28NE gunship, Gepard-3.9 frigate and Amur-1650 diesel-electric submarines.

Russian Knights aerobatic team will be a major participant in the exhibition’s flight program with its pilots flying cross-functional Su-30SM fighters to demonstrate elements of solo and group super maneuvering.
