Rostec State Corporation has developed a parachute for emergency evacuation from skyscrapers. The new product was nicknamed ‘Chance.’
Rostec has certified a prototype, and can now begin commercial production of the parachutes. The product is easy to use and can be handled by anyone, not requiring any special experience. The equipment will include a parachute and a satchel with a suspension system, as well as three domes to contain speed when landing. With this kit, people will be able to parachute from a nine-story building.
Rostec says the parachute has no analogues in the world. The main advantage of the innovation is the possibility of using it at heights that are too small for using conventional parachutes. The Chance parachute will open at the right height automatically, while the user will not need to do anything to manage it, RBC writes.
A number of innovative solutions were used in the project; one of them prevents the parachute from folding when hitting the walls of the building.
