Russian Pension Fund reveals new retirement perks

The Russian Pension Fund promised to provide Russian citizens with new retirement benefits. Lawmakers will begin working on this initiative next year, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

The benefits are available not only to retired people but also to people of a pre-retirement age (five years before retirement). Next year, pre-retirement age citizens will include women aged 50.5 and men aged 55.5. In 2023 they will be women aged 55 and men aged 60 – basically, pensioners according to the earlier regulation. They will be entitled to the following benefits: two paid days-off for health checkups, and protection from premediated dismissal. However, pre-retirees of the transition period will not get any tax benefits. The tax benefits are provided to a specific pre-retirement age, which is 55 in women and 60 in men.

The tax benefits will relieve the eligible citizens from property taxes as well as land taxes on a standard plot of land (up to 600 sq m). Additionally, in some regions pensioners and pre-retirees will be partly or fully relieved from transport tax.
