Russians consider robot vacuums useless

Most respondents said multicookers and robotic vacuum cleaners are the most useless household appliances in a survey by the HiTech mail.ru portal.

Almost one-fifth of Russians (18%) assessed a multicooker as the worst purchase in their lives. Robot vacuums, bread machines and electric heaters also turned out a waste of space. As for the latter, they might have fallen out of use because central heating systems rarely break down in Russia these days. At the same time, appliances that heat and cook, as well as do dishes – such as microwave ovens, blenders, meat grinders and dishwashers – remain popular with Russian consumers, Izvestia writes.

Interestingly, a robotic vacuum cleaner remains the most desired household purchase, even though it also tops the list of most useless devices. Also, Russians want a dishwasher, a coffee maker and a humidifier in their apartments. That said, in reality, they prefer to buy more practical appliances like microwaves, blenders, meat grinders and coffee makers.
